The BOOKWYRMS ...

Recently I participated in a Christmas in July blog event that turned out to be lucrative, not only for the wonderful prizes I won, but for something more.

I met some wonderful new friends whose love of books rivals my own. The thought of our new found comraderie ending with the blog event wasn't acceptable, so here I am, hoping that my new friends will join me here to carry on our discussions!

Feel free to comment daily, weekly, or monthly! About books, music, or whatever else happens to be on your mind!

Andrea :O)

Ok, since I just posted on the blog event that I am reading the Diary of Anne Boleyn, by Robin Maxwell, I am going to switch gears and talk about the music that I find inspiring right now. Not only am I an avid reader, but I'm also a writer- I find that the song, "Angels," by Within Temptation can bring out such forceful emotion. Here is the link to a video for it, what do you think?

What song gives you inspiration or evokes powerful emotions in you???

What a great post! I'm so glad I found you during the Christmas in July event! As you can see, I'll be flitting through here alot and drive you crazy with my comments. Be forewarned!
I'm also an Within Temptation fan. Some other songs from other bands that inspire me are "Carry On" and "Courage" by Manowar, "Walking In the Air" by Nightwish, "The Seven Angels" by Avantasia, "Love Song" by The Cure and "Livin' On a Prayer" by Bon Jovi.

Hi Andrea!

When I do sit down to write, I always forget about music. And if I do happen to remember it can't have any words or I lose my concentration to sing rather than write. Not that I'm a good singer LOL! But I do like to when I am alone.

Songs do inspire me, jsut not while I'm writing.

I didn't go to the Christmas in July event, but it sounds like you had a lot of fun!

I'm reading Leslie Carroll's book, ROYAL AFFAIRS. It's awesome!!!

Hey Amy! thanks for stopping by, there are only certain songs that I can write too, just ones that inspire emotion! but everyone is different!! And if singing makes you happy, then sign like no one's listening!!!!!!!

Hey Eliza, I haven't read any of Leslie Caroll's books, so I'll have to keep that in mind! Thanks for the tip, and for joining us!!

How is your writing coming along, anyway? Last I heard you finished one and were putting it on hold for awhile before you did edits. Have you started edits yet, or submitted it?

Hi, Andrea! You know I love you to death and want to support you but today was Little Gym, 3rd-year check-up, and a friend's birthday party at of all places--a jumping place. Ahhhh! I'm kinda braindead. But I wanted to stop by and say hi. ;) I'll check back here some time this weekend after the rest of the festivities pass in my life... Skhye

Hi, Andrea and Corrina,

Oh, so many blogs, so little time! Glad I could join in here. Does anybody else get chills from "Dust in the Wind"? It still does it to me.

Hi Andrea, I saw your post on Myspace and had to drop in. Is that Loch Ness up there at the top? It looks similar to a photo I just took, along the west side in a little secluded stop-by point.

Music? I'm a music junkie and so many inpire me, it would be hard to choose one. When I'm writing and want music (sometimes I do, sometimes not), I listen to either Celtic or Classical. Right now, Scotland the Brave comes to mind. Wow, such a gorgeous melody.

LK Hunsaker said...

Hm, I mean east side, not west. The west side is more touristy ... and easier to drive!

Chicks of Characterization said...

YES, Miriam "Dust in the Wind" is a very inspirational song! I love it!! Its on my IPOD!!

Chicks of Characterization said...

Ah, LK, Scotland the Brave, the Braveheart theme.. ah, I'm getting homesick for the Uk- again!!!!

I hope you get inspired! Maybe when the kids go back to school, you'll have more time to stay focused.

I submitted my Spirits Unveiled to TWRP. Now I'm just waiting! Ugh! And I'm working on another short. I'm slow but in no hurry either!

You know, I am going to be interviewed over on http://www.textyladies.com/
on Tuesday. You could stop by if you like :). My first interview!

That's AWESOME Amy, I will definitely stop by your interview- just send me a reminder the ole brain isn't what it used to be! :O)

Hi Andrea,
what a great blog you have! And it will be fun to meet others from Christmas in July here.
I always listen to music, right now one of my favorites are Nightwish. Rather surprising, I've seldom liked anything we have here in Finland...
Here is one of their songs

Hi Eva,
Thanks so much for the compliment on the blog! I'm so glad you joined us! We should have great fun! It will be wonderful sharing our suggestions, recommendatins and we might even be lucky enough to have some authors come by and speak with us too!

I have never heard of Nightwish but I am definitely gonna go watch that clip! Thanks for sharing!!

Finland, eh? I bet its beautiful there! I hope to visit there one of these days.

Talk to you soon,

Andrea

Hi Andrea

Sorry I haven't popped in before - but Friday was my release date for DANCING WITH FATE and it's been a bit hectic. Apart from trying to 'get the word out' I also had pc problems so it took much longer to do a video for it than I would have liked. if You fancy a peek it's up on the muse page of my 'muse' My Space:

www.myspace.com/terpsichore
museofdance

and You Tube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrurmHya_1A

I'm also running a contest on Terpschore's Blog in her My Space -the prize is a water droplet on a silver chain.

Hi Lyn, sorry to hear about your PC problems, but CONGRATULATIONS on your release! I will definitely nip over and check out your video! Thanks for the tip!!!
