Ok, ladies have at it- what do you feel like talking about today??
Hmmm, lets see, I'll start by saying, I am reading Hannah Howell's "Highland Wedding" not too bad, and since I have always been a huge fan of hers I'm kind of biased. Any sexy man in plaid is enough to make me like the book!! hee hee

Ok, so there are rumors swirling around that Jonas Armstrong is going to leave Robin Hood after the third series- Anyone else hear this? Any thoughts? I personally love the show, love looking at Guy, and Robin- and would hate to see it end, but I would hate it ever more if they were to recast any of the characters. So, I guess one more season is all it shall be for me!
Andrea :O)
I am reading Jodi Picoult's "My Sister's Keeper". It's not a romance, but I personally think it's pretty good. It's about this family that is dealing with one of the kids having Lukemia.(sp?) The youngest child was made from her sister's genes because no other family member was a perfect match for things like bone marrow transplants. Each chapter is told from a different family member. It's a pretty good book if you ask me ;) I would recommend it.
I just finished Joi Picoult's 'Salem Falls' and throughly enjoyed it!
I cannot say what I am reading right now, based on the fact that I mentioned a few uncharitable things about it on my blog. :(
And I've never watched Robin Hood???
Yeah, I'm a Robin Hood virgin as well.
I'm reading Jude Deveraux's The Summerhouse. Lainey, I'm heading over to your blog to learn more about what you're reading!!
Hmmm, so two of you like Jodi Picoult's , s the one Laura talked about sound interesting, something along the lines of the Holly Kennedy books. Might have to look into them!
oooh, Lainey sounds intriquing! I have to run over to your blog and check it out!!!
Andrea :O)
Lexi, Lainey and Laura, geesh I'll just call you the L's :O) What in the world is wrong with you guys??? lol, Robin Hood on BBC America is awesome!!!!! Not to mention there are some uber HOT men in it:O) reason enough to watch, eh???
No Robin Hood here in Finland, I think season 1 will be sometimes in September...
I've read some historicals for the past two weeks,Lorraine Heath, Suzanne Enoch and Eloisa James and now I'm ready for something else, maybe I'll look for a Picoult too. The last one I read was Wanishing Acts. I remember it was rather interesting...
Hi Eva, sorry you don't have Robin Hood! If it comes your way and you like that type of show, give it a try!! You might like a Holly Kennedy book as well, she writes inspirational type books about real life situations- very good reads! I have reviews of two of her books on my review site- if you want to check them out the link is: www.highlandlassiesreviews.blogspot.com
Andrea :O)
Hi Andrea, I have been in computer HELL! I couldn't log on, then I did some things that I thought would help but it made it worse. I lost everything! My favorites, saved emails, saved emails to send, and my address book. I'm been so frustrated, I can't remember all my favorites and it's been hell trying to find you and everyone else. I just seen you on a blog earlier today and was able to get you back in my favorites.
So I see you guys are talking about Robin Hood. I have never watched it too. I seen some ads but never watched.
I did finish Tail Spin by Catherine Coulter and it was pretty good. I started Eloisa James' book Duchess by Night, I really enjoy her books and quirky humor she always has in them. Has anyone else read her books?
Hi Dena!!! I need to start a new post at the top of the blog!! Sorry to hear about your computer troubles. I hate when that happens. ugh! But I am so glad you found us!!! I have read some of Eloisa James's books but the titles are evading me right now. My mom just brought me "The Jester" by James Patterson. I am leaving for the beach and hope to be able to read it while I am there. Someone on the contest loop recommended it, and my mom said it was pretty good! So we'll see! I've been meaning to read Tail Spin what did you think of it?? You said it was pretty good, would you recommend it????
Well I am so glad you found us again!! I am sending good vibes your way so nothing else goes on with your computer! talk to you soon.
Andrea
Hi Andrea, Guess what? I was the one who recommended The Jester by James Patterson. I really liked it, it was very different than his other books. I think it might be his only historical? I like how James' chapters are a few pages. I seem to read faster thinking oh one more page then it's the next chapter so I read more.
Have you read any of Catherine Coulter's other FBI books? If you have then you know how some are not as good as you would expect from her. Well Tail Spin was pretty good, I like when Savitch and Sherlock are in the stories more and they are in this one a lot. One thing that I've noticed with the two series I read from her (Sherbrooke-bride, and the FBI) is the characters are the same in a there humor. It's like the Sherbrookes are the Historical counterparts to the FBI main characters. Maybe its just me seeing them like that?
I finished Duchess by Night, I loved it. I started Charlaine Harris' 8th Sookie book, From Dead to Worse. I think you said that you don't like paranormal books? Well from the first page of the first book in this series I was hooked. Sookie is telepathic and can you imagine having sex with a guy knowing what he was thinking. She is drawn to the first Vampire she meets because she can't read his mind and it's a relief for her overloaded brain. She lives in Northern Louisiana and her southern charm is well charming. A lot of the mannerisms and traditions are things that as a Northerner I find very interesting and entertaining, lol. In September on HBO they have a show coming on based on Charlaines book called True Blood. I can't wait to watch it!
I have read online a few of the ebooks that I won from Christmas in July...Eternal Rapture(very erotic), Ancient Musing(really liked, different take on Olypian gods and hades), Soar into Ecstasy (things happened to fast to believe in the love), The Pickle My Little Friend ( I liked it but the end was a little confusing), Valentines Day Do Over (a quirky Groundhog day like story with the characters doing over Valentines day until they got it right with cupid as the guide.
Thanks for the good vibes Andrea, I need them, I still can't access my address book or add new ones? Very annoying. Well I hope everyone has a great day!
Wow Dena, you have been busy reading!!
Me not so much! I'm reading,"The Jester" right now, though I have to admit I haven't gotten very far with all the back to school stuff I've been trying to do.
I did read "My sisters Keeper" by Jodi Picoult which I thought was a very good book, though a controversial subject.
I do like Catherine Coulter, but it seems like all her books are kind of blending into one another- I just put two of them into my, TBR "eventually" pile, tail spin being one of them.
AND your right I am NOT a big paranormal reader, but still open to anything! I'll have to add Charlaine Harris's sookie book to my list- see you're trying to bring me to the dark side, aren't ya??? lol, :O)
I haven't had a chance to read any of the stories I won from the contest but I did read, "Ancient Musings," and it was a great read! I also read "Highland Muse," and if you like men in Kilts and the medieval time period, its a great read too!
Ugh! I hate computer problems. Hate them, hate them! I hope they all work out for you!!!
Hope to talk with you here again soon!!!!
Not sure if you are anyone else are Survivor or Grey's Anatomy fans- I am! Big Surprise but the new seasons are getting ready to start!
Survivor- September 18th (I say I'm not going to watch it again, but its like I train wreck, I can't stop myself!)
Greys Anatomy- September 25th (I can't wait!!!!)
Hi Andrea, You are going to love Sookie, if you give her a chance. She is unlike any heroine I've read before. You are going to love Sookie, you are going to love Sookie, you are going to love Sookie...is my hypnosis working, lol.
My little girl isn't so little anymore so I don't have the back to school stress anymore. I do miss when she was in grade school and we picked out all those darling outfits. I don't miss much else though. I hope you get everything done.
I am a huge Survivor fan too, I have maybe missed 5 episodes in all the years it's been on! Last season was so good and I loved all the hidden immunity craziness! It would have been perfect if Amanda would have won, I don't understand how the jury could have not voted for her. A lot of seasons the jury is so stupid. Of course that doesn't stop me from watching, lol.
I started another ebook online, Breach of Trust by Kimber Chin. It's a lot different than my usual reading and a lot longer than any other ebook I've read, but so far it's got me interested so I'll let you know when I'm done...
