Just remember, I write fiction for a living so take what you read with a grain of salt. (There is a little section on that page where I tell 9 true things about my life and one bald-faced lie. See if you can pick out the gollywhopper!)
I grew up in the Midwest, but always dreamed of exotic places. When I was in high school, we all had to write down our goals and put it in an envelope to be read many years later. One of my first goals was travel. I couldn’t wait to see more of the world. And I have. We’ve lived in 9 different states, 4 time zones. When I said I wanted to travel, I didn’t think I’d have to lug all my stuff with me!
I’ve had a checkered past. My work history includes being a (hold on tight!) professional opera singer, elementary teacher, choir director, homeschooling mom, realtor, and banker. In 2001, I finally figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up—a writer.

I love historicals. And novellas are the best! I can actually finish one with my 4-yr old screaming! ;( Add Christmas cheer, and this one is a winner! Now if it would only snow again here is Houston...

Hi Emily! I'd say a checkered past makes for an interesting person. Which shows a fresh voice in your writing.
When I was a kid and we had to write what we wanted to be in school, everyone laughed because I wanted to be a singer. The closest I've ever come to realizing that dream was in grad school when another grad student told me I had a musical voice when I talked. And I was horrified---I pictured this sing-song quality like those insipid women on James Bond movies have when they're saying, "Oh, James, whatever am I going to do?" Ack!
Anyways, good luck with your continuing sales. Your books never disappoint.

I am anxious to read A CHRISTMAS BALL. I love anthologies. I have a couple someone gave me waiting on the shelf. I planned to start my Christmas reading sooner, but except for children's books I haven't read any yet. Until I can find A Christmas Ball, I'll have to pull out one of my old anthologies.
Can't wait for STROKE OF GENIUS to come out.

Kate, I enjoy Regencies too. But I confess I resisted writing them at first. They've been done so often and so well, I wanted to be sure I had something fresh to contribute.
Julie--Too funny! But 'sing-song' and 'musical' aren't the same thing. One is annoying. The other is oh-so pleasant.
