Nightwalker is the first book in a series by Rhonda L. Print. Nightwalker follows Leah Wolfe, who used to work as a supernatural consultant and private detective for Supernatural Investigations of Non-Human Species (SINS) and the State of Arizona Public Safety Division. In Nightwalker, Leah is called in to help with a murder investigation, as her ability to communicate with the recently deceased and her experience with runes is needed to solve the case, but this case is not like any other case Leah has helped with before.

Nightwalker is a fantastic paranormal romance, which leaves its readers eagerly waiting for book 2 in the Leah Wolfe SINS series. It has an interesting and well thought-out plot. The book most certainly lives up to its potential, with a kick-ass heroine and many intriguing secondary characters, that will hopefully be featured in future novels in the Leah Wolfe SINS series. The novel is well-written, without any obvious plot-holes and the storylines were developed smoothly through out the novel. As well as the storyline, the dialogue also didn't feel rushed or stilted. It is impossible to find fault with Nightwalker, as it is a novel that any paranormal romance fan should love.

This book can not be honestly rated lower than five stars, as Rhonda L. Print has delivered paranormal romance fans a new series to get hooked on.

A Leah Wolfe SINS Novel ~ Book 1

Paranormal Romance/Mystery

(Liquid Silver Books)

Nightwalker is a great new addition to the paranormal romance world! It is beautifully written with solid characters and an intriguing plot. The story flows effortlessly, providing enough back-story to draw you into the author’s realm of the paranormal with her descriptive narrative.

As a former police officer turn private investigator, Leah Wolfe has all the qualities of a great heroine: she’s smart, strong willed, feisty and sarcastic…not to mention she kicks major butt! She brings a “realness” to her character with her inquisitive nature which is refreshing; Leah doesn't let her emotions dictate her actions which is all the more reason to love her! Leah’s love interest, Ian Nightwalker is a sexy and mysterious character that keeps you questioning: “Is there more than meets the eye with him?” He steals the scene with his suave swagger and is the perfect blend of Alpha male mixed with hopeless romantic. Although Leah and Ian have that sizzle-off-the-page chemistry, their romance is not your usual “happily ever after.” They weave a web of passion, betrayal, sex, lies and deceit that is too tangled to resolve in this first installment.

Filled with plenty of action, humor and the perfect dose of romance, Nightwalker will capture you and keep you turning the pages in suspense. Fans of strong heroines such as The Hollow’s Rachel Morgan and Cat of the Night Huntress books will love Leah Wolfe!

Leah Wolfe is a private investigator. She was once a police detective, but hated the fact that the criminals rights mattered more than their victims. She also has some paranormal abilities that have alienated many of those closest to her. Her mother abandoned her when she was a child and more recently her fiancé dumped her calling her "an unholy witch". She is forced to deal with him again when his former lover was brutally murdered by something not human. Other women are soon found in much the same condition. Casino owner Ian Nightwalker seems to know more than he is telling and Leah is very attracted to him. He seems to know what she is when she doesn't know herself and she is repeatedly told to let him protect her from the killer who is now focused on her.

Ms. Print has taken this genre and made it her own with this story. On the surface the supernatural private investigator and her vampire lover has been done many times, but this story is fresh and new and not derivative at all. The southwestern setting is unusual in a vampire story being way too sunny for creatures of the night. Ian and Leah are not your average couple either. Ian is a bit more sensitive and vulnerable than the usual master vampire and instead of making him seem weaker and less alpha, it made me like him more. The plotline is fast moving and always interesting and exciting, and the characters, even the undead ones are vividly alive. The author can't write the sequel to this story fast enough for me. This is the best paranormal I have read this year.

Mystery, sexy men and danger...and that’s only the beginning. Leah Wolfe is a character that I’m sure anyone will connect with. She’s very real. And without spoiling anything, a scene happens very early on in the novel that had me balling my eyes out. Literally, sobbing while I read each page. Ms. Print captured a very sad moment, and wow, did I ever feel it.

Not only is there one love interest, but there’s two. Truthfully, I wasn’t sure by the end of the story who I wanted Leah to be with. And considering her ex-fiancé, Joaquín doesn’t deserve her it surprised me I felt this way. His character really grew on me and I found myself forgiving him for his wrongs.

This brings me to Ian, the new love in Leah’s life. Their relationship is the only reason this book isn’t getting a 5 star review from me. Time and time again, Leah contradicted herself and it left me confused. I’m sure it had something to do with her being cautious when it comes to love, but it left me not believing in their relationship, and unable to really connect with them as a couple.

Regardless of my little qualms with Leah’s and Ian’s relationship, this author has become one that will top my to-be-read list. Leah’s special gifts held me captivated the entire novel and the adventure she goes on is fantastic. If you love the paranormal, a quick witted heroine, love and a compelling adventure, then go and buy this book now! You won’t be disappointed!!

(Warning-bad words ahead) A LINE THAT HAD ME DROOLING WITH WORD ENVY ― “A fucking accident. You just happened to have a hard on and ‘accidentally’ fell into her. Is that what you’re going to stand there and tell me? Fuck you. Fuck this.”

Yadkny's Review

I'm not sure where to even begin with this, but just imagine watching an awesome paranormal movie in high-def… that was my experience while reading this book. Every single setting and character was crystal clear to picture without all of the overwhelming, unnecessary details. Danger combined with sexy, mysterious men, will leave you panting all the way to the end.Leah Wolfe is the perfect model of an independent, strong-willed woman and someone (although fictional) I very much admire. After everything she’s been put through from the abandoning of her mother at an early age, the dumping of her fiancé while he called her an “unholy witch”, to the never-ending stream of supernatural creatures that have come out of seemingly nowhere to either possess or kill her; she conquered all of it with a lot of grace, bravery, and a much needed foul-mouthed attitude. I will admit, and so would Leah, that she is a bit of a control freak, but then again I can relate.

The rest of the cast includes so many types of paranormal creatures, it's amazing Ms. Print was able to find a place for each of them. Although some characters only made brief appearances, they all made lasting impressions and those that survive will live to see another day I’m sure, in the next SINS series installment.

I felt completely pulled into this story and I'm sure that has a lot to do with Ms. Print's writing ability and being able to connect her audience to her characters. I experienced every possible emotion right along with our heroine, which only served to solidify a memorable connection to this book. Fans of Cat from the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost and fans of Anita from the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurel K. Hamilton, will see bits of both of those heroines in Leah Wolfe and will immediately recognize the telltale signs of a fantastic story.

Regardless of the fact that there isn't really an HEA (happily-ever-after) by the end, it's more like a to-be-continued HEA. I am absolutely thrilled this is series since that means I don't have to give up any of my favorite characters just yet. There's no way I'm not reading the next book! And remember, whatever you do... stay close to the nightwalker. You'll know what I mean when you read the book.

Recommended reading for not just fans of paranormal romance, but fans of fictional reading period.

~EXCERPT from NIGHTWALKER~

"We shouldn’t," I whispered against his lips.

He pulled his head back to look at me. His blue eyes were dark with need and desire.

"Allow me to convince you." He kissed the tip of my nose, his hands resting on my shoulders. His mouth trailed tender kisses over my cheeks until he found my mouth. He kissed me gently as his fingers caressed down the sides of my arms and to my back where he gently stroked up and down my spine. His tongue licked along my bottom lip and I leaned into him and parted my lips to welcome him. He eagerly accepted my invitation and our tongues danced together, teasing, inviting, until I found the entire length of me melded to the length of him, my arms trailing along the hardness of his back. He slid his hands to the front of my blouse and undid the top button.
