Spotlight on' author Jen Holling

This week I was supposed to be focusing on Jen Holling. Unfortunately, I was unable to do so. Because of that, I've decided to keep the spotlight on her, and share my reviews of her books.
I came across Jen Holling by accident. One day while I was browsing my local library, a purple Tartan cover caught my eye. It just so happened that the book was in the book sale. I truly had no intention of buying it, but when I pulled it out and read the back, I ended up with it, and two other books from the Macdonell Bride series.

Here is my review, of the first book in the Macdonell Bride Series.
Book Review: My Wicked Highlander

I want to start off by saying this is the first time I’ve read anything by Jen Holling, and I must say I have another new author to add to my FAVORITES! I loved every single minute of, MY WICKED HIGHLANDER. Honestly, it was such a moving story, that I didn’t want it to end.

Jen Holling has a passion for Scotland that shows in her beautiful descriptions. She did a fantastic job of transporting me back.

Isobel MacDonell is a strong, proud and loyal woman. Sir Philip Kilpatrick is a brave, and honorable warrior whose focus is to protect the lady he’s been asked to bring home after twelve long years spent in hiding. Both of these characters have demons, and the fact that Isobel is a WITCH, can’t distinguish the flames burning between them. Only problem is, Isobel is betrothed to another, a powerful Earl who is rumored to have killed his first wife.

Sir Philip finds himself wanting more than her father’s appreciation for being Isobel’s protector, he wants her- especially since he fears for her safety at the hands of a possible murderer.Isobel feels the pull also, but since Philip keeps her at arms length, she doesn’t know what to do. She doesn’t want to deny her father’s dying wish by not marrying Nicholas Lyon, Earl of Kincreag, but can she deny her heart?

Does Sir Philip manage to protect Isobel from the Witch hunts going on in Scotland? And will he turn Isobel over to Earl Kincreag once they return to Lochlaire? You’ll have to read it to find out!

This is an Excellent story that kept me turning pages late into the night. I couldn’t put it down and it called to me whenever I did. I never wanted this story to end. The characters were written so well that I felt I actually new them. The sexual tension between Isobel and Philip sizzled!I experienced so many emotions. I laughed, I cried- I had goose bumps and on more than one occasion a lump in my throat so large I thought I might stop breathing. This book is everything a Romance Reader, especially those with a passion for Scotland could ever want.

Kudos to Jen Holling for a job well done!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars- *****Now I can’t wait to read, MY DEVILISH SCOTSMAN, the second book in the MacDonell brides series.

Hi there! I found your blog while I was searching for info on Jen Holling (I'm actually trying to find a contact email). I just read one of her books last week and absolutely loved it. I'm so glad to see other readers giving her positive feedback. I've added her to my list of new favorites as well.

You should try My Immortal Protector if you haven't read it yet. It's wonderful! :)

Good job on the review!

I can't remember if I've read her books or not. Her name sounds so familiar, and in a warm, fuzzy way, ya know? Anyway, I'll have to check out this book.

Hello, I haven't been able to find very much about this author either. I do love her books though. I got an e-mail from her in November of 2008, saying that she has been thinking of writing a story about "Nicholas and Gillian's children and the rest of the family, but that was still in the planning stages". I do hope she is ok and that she will write more wonderful stories. I just tried e-mailing her again and if she writes back I will let you all know. Sabra

Hello, I just wanted to let you all know that the e-mail address for Jen Holling is no longer good. I got a failure return e-mail saying her e-mail address no longer exists. Her website no longer exsists as well. I have the "MacDonell Brides Trilogy", "My Immortal Protector", and "My Immortal Promise". I hope she is ok and that she will write more. Sabra

I'm good friends with Jen Holling. She is taking a break from writing at this time.

I'll let her know she has a nice fan club on here when I see her tomorrow. = )
