A well-traveled, thirty-something mom and New Englander to the bone, I write a cross-genre of paranormal and fantasy romance. How did I end up writing such stories? Well, for years I read fantasy fiction (pretty sure I’ve read every last Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms novel that exists). Then there were quite a few years of reading romance (So many authors I couldn’t begin to list them all). When at last I started putting pen to paper (AKA─fingers to keyboard) it all blended together. At first, it was mostly fantasy romance. My Druid story and Highlander Trilogy couldn’t remain strictly historical. Nope, time-travel and magic took over. Kind of like historical Faerie tales with sexy men, lots of lust and infinite intrigue. Aye, I just couldn’t stick to mere mortals. Lately, I’ve been diving more into paranormal romance as I write about vampires and ghost hunters.
I’m totally thrilled to be able to celebrate the release of Sylvan Mist (Book III) with Andrea and Corrina, the top guru’s of all things Scottish. I wrote this novel in 2007 so you can well imagine how excited I am that it’s finally ‘live’. At birth, this trilogy took months of research. But wow did I learn a lot about medieval Scotland.
I’d like to quickly share what inspired this trilogy. In 2005, my husband and I attended the Scottish Highland games here in New Hampshire. Eager, we were there to search out and learn more about our clans. What did we discover? My lowland clan, the Browns (Brouns) had been intermarried with his highland clan (The Lamonts-older name: MacFerarcher: Gaelic translation- Mac’Lomain) for over 300 years during the medieval period! As you can well imagine, a trilogy born of fate, destiny and love ignited in my mind.
I used the Mac’Lomains as the focal point of my trilogy because the clan controlled Argyll in the twelfth century and was─by far─one of the most powerful clans in Scotland. That they had such a direct connection to the King of Dal’Raida in Ireland…well, this just made the trilogy perfect. You’ll have to read these stories to find out what I mean!
Again, so happy to be here this week. A huge ‘thank you and big round of hugs’ to Andrea and Corrina for having me!
Cheers

Hi Sky. Your stories sound so intriguing. Right up my alley. I write modern Paranormal Scottish Romances, and a couple in the series have an element of time travel. I really enjoyed reading this post. Congratulations on the release of Sylvan Mist.
