Find out what the critics are saying about Sky Purington's books! *Contest*

What's being said about DARKEST MEMORY
(prequel to HEART OF VESUVIUS)

"Sky Purington gives us a jam-packed vampire tale that will keep you on the edge of your seat! This is one vampire love story that will tug on your heartstrings! It also has enough heat to singe your fingertips as you fly through the pages of this blazing book!"
~Night Owl Reviews

"This is a fun story full of mystery. I spent a lot of time during the first few chapters trying to puzzle out what was happening and what secret Gabriel was hiding. And I was not disappointed. The characters were vivid and believable and reacted to the world around them in appropriate ways...The sex is hot, frantic, and wild, saving admissions of feeling for better times."
~You Gotta Read Reviews

"If you want a story with a good bit of mystery, suspense, heat, and characters you won't forget, then you need to read DARKEST MEMORY."
~Long and Short Reviews

What’s being said about THE MAC’LOMAIN TRILOGY

Short story lead-in to trilogy…“This story is suggestive, and haunting. It is carried by the power of desire, the power of passion, and the power of desperation. There is a richness here that is hard to convey… THE KING’S DRUIDESS will delight not only the faerie fans but those who love all the tales of old.”
~Nancy A. Lindley-Gauthier

“A lover of all things Scottish along with an avid love of anything that is fantasy, Fate’s Monolith just hits my buttons. It's a lovely blend of two times and the trouble that would befall anyone that is taken across the fabric of time. Sky Purington has done a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I found it hard to put down and it made me wish for my own Highland Laird to come and sweep me off my feet and into a time where I could be loved for who I am. I hope you take the time to get lost in FATE’S MONOLITH this summer just as I did.”
~Night Owl Reviews

“There is so much packed into DESTINY’S DENIAL the story is gripping. I couldn't put it down until I finished the last page but don't take my word for it, you really need to read these books. If you have the slightest interest in time travel, Scotland or magic you will be pulled into this story hook, line and sinker.”
~Simply Romance Reviews

“SYLVAN MIST… “This final story in Purington's Mac'Lomain trilogy is an enchanting story of time hopping. Closely connected to the previous stories, the action is intense and the finish is a fine conclusion to the series.”
~Romantic Times Reviews

Excerpt from "Darkest Memory!"

Here’s a little taste of Sky Purington’s, Darkest Memory…

Could she remember, did she? Gabriel ran his hands the length of her, cupped her buttocks, and pulled her lower half against him, let her feel his arousal, his need. This was Heaven, his one light in eternal darkness. Teeth, lips, blood mixed, her blood, like molten silver and sugared wine.

Like a slap in the face.

He pulled back, shook his head and searched for air. Lust reddened his vision.

She breathed rapidly and pushed her hands against his chest while simultaneously clenching the material of his shirt, her voice a strained whisper. “I shouldn’t have done that Gabriel, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have. I don’t know what came over me. I just met you! ”

He closed his eyes and tried to tune out her rapid heartbeat. She thought she’d been the one to instigate? He gazed into her face, swollen lips and glazed eyes. So beautiful. Her long, straight platinum hair blew in the wind. Her wide, golden eyes shone bright within his supernatural vision. Her frame, as it had been before, willowy and tall with legs that went on forever. She appeared an angel.

Calah looked the same, delicately beautiful and innocent as no other could be.

But she wasn’t that way anymore, not according to Alex, not according to her life. He had watched and relished the person she had become, so strong, vibrant and independent. Calah, still herself yet different―evolved. He saw the way she acted around him, understood the complexities of it though she did not.

Her heart beat rapidly beneath his palm. “I kissed you, Calah.” A warm smile came naturally, the first in centuries. “You merely kissed back.”

Her full lips curled in at the corners, she released his shirt and dropped her eyes. “This is inappropriate, Gabriel.” As though she awakened from a dream, she glanced around frantically. “Where is Alex?”

He pulled back and ran a hand through his hair. Then he thought twice, drove his hand into her hair and tilted her head back until her eyes met his. He let his long repressed emotions overtake. Saw no reason to take this slowly. “I desire you for more than your writing abilities, Calah, do you not realize that?”

Calah spoke but no words came out. She behaved as all females did with him. Did she not feel this, know this? He felt his incisors grow again, for the fourth time since he had laid eyes on her. He growled in frustration and pushed away. He was too old for this, knew better. He had done nothing but practice self-restraint for far too long.

Touching her once had snapped his self-restraint in half.

Find out what's being said about Sky Purington & her books!

Join us for a peek at what the critics are saying about Sky and her books! Take it away Sky!

As Darkest Memory was released last week, I have no reviews for it yet. Therefore, I decided to share some reviews from previous works. Keep in mind, The King’s Druidess is a short tale that leads into my Scottish Trilogy and Highland Muse is part of a sensational anthology called The Song of the Muses!

THE KING’S DRUIDESS
Sky Purington's The King's Druidess marries a possible past as it were, to fantasy. This evocative tale immediately draws the reader in. It is not merely a window to another world, but a world one can easily believe in, a world one searches the histories for. From the circle of stones to the power of that which is foretold, this is wild and beautiful and beguiling. Purington exhibits a richness of language and an imaginative vision. This story is suggestive, and haunting. It is carried by the power of desire, the power of passion, and the power of desperation. Read full review here.

FATE’S MONOLITH (BOOK I)
I believe Ms. Purington did a good job with this story. She kept me intrigued, I wanted to know more about Arianna and what was happening to her. I loved solving the mystery of the man who's voice she hears. This story is well written and nicely paced… The length is perfect for me, just right to sink into.

DESTINY’S DENIAL (BOOK II)

Destiny's Denial is the second book in Sky Purington's The Mac'Lomain Trilogy, the first one is Fate's Monolith and the third one coming soon is Sylvan Mist. So far I have loved this series and I am anxiously awaiting the third tale.

Magic, dreams and rogue Highland Scots combine to make these stories much more than just time travel. With wizards and prophesies and two families seemingly forever bound Ms. Purington has woven quite an intricate trilogy.

There is so much packed into Destiny's Denial the story is gripping. I couldn't put it down until I finished the last page but don't take my word for it, you really need to read these books. If you have the slightest interest in time travel, Scotland or magic you will be pulled into this story hook, line and sinker. Read the full review here.

HIGHLAND MUSE
I love a story with unexpected twists, striking dialogue and happily ever after endings. Sky Purington’s Highland Muse kept me guessing toward that happy ending. A pleasure to read, I enjoyed revisiting the Greek gods and Muses. I laughed, worried and pondered over Rowan’s experiences with his muse, Melpomene. Ms. Purington wove together the greatness of Scottish highlanders and Greek gods with seamless believability. Read the full review here. (http://www.skypurington.com/muse_review.html)

Meet author Sky Purington!

Thanks so much for having me at your blog!

While I classify myself as a paranormal romance writer I believe most would agree I fall into the category of fantasy/paranormal.

Though born in Massachusetts, I grew up in New Hampshire. Lucky me─I was the daughter of a TWA employee. This meant I was able to travel quite a bit. Traveling introduced me to so many different cultures. Those very cultures inspired stories. Thus far, I’ve written tales surrounding Ireland, Scotland, England, Greece, Italy and New England.

My latest release, Darkest Memory, is a steamy little vampire story that─while labeled a contemporary with a Maine setting─will take the reader back to medieval England often. Expect to revisit a historical night at Westminster Abbey and roam the English forest during a time of great danger.

As for the hero and heroine, coming together could prove disastrous. Cutthroat journalist, Calah Arlington thinks she’s landed the interview of a lifetime. Vampire, Gabriel knows better. The vampire who created him has awoken. She’s not happy. Jealous and vengeful, no one can have Gabriel but her. Twists, turns and forgotten memories make this journey a race against time. Instant passion, the element of denial and true love makes anything possible.

The plot thickens…Heart of Vesuvius; sequel to Darkest Memory was just contracted! In this tale, we follow Gabriel’s sister, Alexandria (who you meet in Darkest Memory─commonly referred to as Alex). Without doubt, it was interesting writing Heart of Vesuvius. This time two vampires fall in love. He’s horribly arrogant and ancient (think Roman Empire) and she’s afraid of heights amongst other things (never a good thing for a vampire!). These two clash from the start. But as all romance stories tend to go, love will find a way.

Okay, on to the fun stuff! Anyone who is familiar with me knows I love contests. Before I dish out the details, I’d love to start here at this blog. Leave a comment after any of my posts this week for a chance to win a copy of Darkest Memory!
